I remember many years ago when all I heard was that print design was going away. Print design is not going anywhere, it's just different from what it was years ago. We now use a mix of marketing channels to reach the customer. Many companies still use print materials. There are differences between reading something online and having it in your hand to read. There are visual differences that cannot be replicated on a screen. Think about the paper stock weight, the finishing, the color, etc. These affect your senses. What about packaging design? We still need this. The consumer may order an item online, but how it is packaged when it arrives is just as important.
